Pistoia went into last Sunday's game against Pesaro knowing that a win would move them yet closer to a second straight playoff berth. And for most of the game the white-and-red did a good job of keeping a Pesaro team fighting to stay in the Italian Serie A at bay.
The Flexx would jump out to a double-digit lead and Pesaro would come back behind hot 3-point shooting to make it a game. At the end Teddy Okereafor, one of the unsung heroes of this year’s squad, sank two free throws to seal the win. But it was truly a team effort as 8 of 9 white-and-red players scored at least 8 points, with point guard Ronald Moore (15 pts and 7 assists) and new-comer Michael Jenkins (4 wins in 5 games in Pistoia) leading the way while a resurgent captain Antonutti scored almost a point a minute (14 pts in 16 minutes).
The Flexx now have their playoff destiny in their hands with a win in the next two games guaranteeing them a place in this year's top eight. This Sunday Pistoia travel to Reggio Emilia for their last road game of the regular season with tip-off scheduled at 6.15.
